The participatory platform of the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region and the French-speaking Parliament of Brussels.
The French-speaking Parliament of Brussels and the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region have commissioned Open Source Politics to set up a platform to make it easier for the people of Brussels to access the participatory democracy processes of deliberative commissions and petitions.
This platform allows you to submit thematic proposals (citizens' suggestions or petitions); to sign these proposals; and to follow their progress.
The suggestions and petitions are all analysed by the services of the two assemblies, which that they comply with the admissibility criteria.
Launched in November 2019, the Belgian House of Representatives ' petitions platform allows citizens tomake their voices heard by bringing their concerns to the attention of public authorities.The platform collects requests for changes to a specific policy or law.
In May 2018, Open Sources Politics supported the city of Nivelles in the implementation of a citizens'consultation to improve the the quality of municipal services for its citizens.
The city of Nivelles wanted to gather the opinions of its citizens regarding the welcome they receive from municipal services, with the aim of improving it.
To do so, the city invited its citizens to contribute their opinions online, through a large citizenconsultation.

The digital citizen consultation fed into this plan, and made it possible to reach a wider audience, so that each resident of Waterloocould contribute to the redevelopment of their downtown .

The spread of fakes news is becoming a major societal problem, threatening democracy. In May 2018, the Belgian Federal Public Service organised a major digital consultation.
Citizens were invited to give their opinions on the official proposals put to a vote, but also to put forward their own proposals for combating fakes news.
The government will make decisions on the basis of the various proposals that have been made.
